Officially
Contracted for Medicaid Transport
May
2007: Ambu-Star has been officially contracted
as the provider of Medicaid transport for York, Chester,
and Lancaster Counties. |
Upstate’s
First Bariatric Unit
Ambu-Star
offered the Upstate's first bariatric transport unit.
This unit is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
with a shift schedule of 24/48. The unit consists
of a Type 3, E-350 ambulance complete with Stryker’s
bariatric stretcher and winch. The crew assigned
to this unit not only provides care and transport to
the bariatric patients, but also provides care and transport
within day-to-day calls. |
Fastest
Growing Ambulance Service in the Upstate of South Carolina
Ambu-Star
developed a management team with a combined experience
of 90 years in the ambulance field. Founding of the
company also developed 63 jobs by the end of 2005, including
full-time and part-time positions for our brothers and
sisters who serve unselfishly each and every day. The
company and job growth is the survival, not only for
the employees and the profession, but also for the patients
whose lives they touch. |
Ambu-Star
Warms Dialysis Patients
Ambu-
Star is heavily dedicated to their patients. During
the chill of winter; Ambu-Star purchased blankets and
pillows for all their dialysis patients. This
assures that these patients remain warm and comfortable
during the lengthy treatments. |
Ambu-Star
provides mutual aid to Upstate Carolina Medical Center
EMS
The
Upstate Caroina Medical Center EMS, who operates as
the sole 9-1-1 EMS
provider within Cherokee County, South Carolina has,
on numerous occasions, requested mutual aid due to a
large call volume or an event that exhausted the county’s
EMS provider. Within minutes, Ambu-Star was able
to assist by providing ambulances on the scene or as
a stand-by. |
Ambu-Star
offers “Free” CPR, ACLS and First Aid classes
During
2005, Ambu-Star has trained more than 200 people. Organizations
include Oakmont Nursing Home, Brookview Nursing Home,
Magnolia Manor of Inman, Union City Detention Center,
and Union County Sheriff’s Deputies. Although uncommon
for the ambulance industry, Ambu-Star also provided
fire safety classes for two facilities. |
